Backyard Treasure

I live in Plymouth, and have never taken my family to the Polar Caves.  I know, crazy huh?  Well, its one of those..."backyard attractions" that you don't go to because you are always leaving the area on vacation.  Well, I can honestly say, that I'm glad we went.  We finally got a break from all the rain yesterday, so me, my wife and two girls went to the caves.

On the way out, I couldn't stop thinking and marveling at how the glaciers brought those huge boulders from as far as Canada and deposited them there.  It really is amazing, if you think about how big those glaciers must have been.  We loved climbing (hands and knees on many ocassions) through the caves.  No...I couldn't make it through the lemon squeeze, though my wife could.

In terms of feedback to the owners/managers, we really have nothing negative to say.  We had a great time.  My wife commented to me that it would be neat if there were other animals in various stages out on the nature trails.  It could be something more of a science center (like Squam)...that you could go back to again and again.  We have an annual membership there because the kids love the animals.  Food for thought.

If you haven't gone...we do recommend it, even if it is in your own backyard.
